Radicool Roebourne Youth Skate Day was quintessentially Ieramugadu (Roebourne). It was hot, dusty, sweaty, gritty and Radicool.

The second annual event kicked off on a 40+ degree afternoon on Sunday, 19 November, with over 40 kids from Roebourne and surrounding communities attending this free event, delivered in partnership with Roebourne PCYC and Big hART.

The kids enjoyed an incredible display of skating skills from Australia’s first all-Indigenous skateboard team, Songlines, who travelled from the east coast, including champion boarders Sage Macbeath, Kieran Reilly, Dani Campbell and Christopher Walker. The Songline team ran a clinic for the kids who got to put their newly found skills to the test in the drop-in and freestyle competitions.

These events are not possible without the fantastic work of our supporters and sponsors with a special mention to the Fortescue family who volunteered on the day.
