MRL is committed to delivering meaningful action supporting reconciliation and building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, in the Pilbara community.

As part of that commitment, MRL has joined other PHIC members is partnering with the Bloodwood Tree over the past 12 months to help the organisation further grow its regional community food delivery service for disadvantaged and vulnerable locals.

Based in Port Hedland and also servicing the local Yandeyarra Indigenous community, near to our Wodgina operations, this service helps combat high grocery prices and encourages food security by delivering consistent, affordable and nutritious staples for families in need.

Food delivery services operate Monday to Friday across the Hedland region, with fortnightly deliveries to the Yandeyarra community located 130 kilometres away.

Over 461 deliveries have already been completed, feeding more than 754 household members – 97% of whom are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
