Funding to support local communities

PHIC members are committed to helping communities in the regions in which they operate. A range of community grants are available to assist groups working hard to provide services and programs in areas including sport, education, environment, wellbeing and Indigenous engagement.

Eligibility, timing and the conditions for the grants programs vary, with full details available on each member’s website. Here are the important details for each.

The WA Community Grants program enables positive community, environmental and economic development initiatives in BHP’s host communities that our operations, employees and their families call home. We are committed to supporting the community initiatives and programs that do so much to make our host communities a better place to live and work. Port Hedland and Newman applications are open year-round.

The Fortescue Community Grants Program provides funding to support projects, groups and initiatives that take place and provide benefits to people in Pilbara communities. Grants of up to $10,000 are available to eligible applicants.

The Fortescue Innovation Grants aim to inspire Pilbara based community members to innovate and embrace green and sustainable initiatives, events, and programming. Grants of up to $25,000 are available .

Both programs support initiatives within the council boundaries of the Town of Port Hedland, City of Karratha, Shire of Ashburton and Shire of East Pilbara.

The Community Grants Program allows eligible parties to submit applications for funding up to $10,000 to deliver community activations and outreach activities. Hancock Iron Ore is proud to be actively involved with the local communities where we operate, consulting and collaborating to build a better future.

Pilbara Ports

Through the Community Grants Program, Pilbara Ports is committed to supporting eligible not-for-profit groups to make lasting and significant change in the community. Grants up to $25,000 may be allocated to projects that align with the five values and four pillars under the Pilbara Ports Community Investment Framework.

MinRes’ Community Grants program provides support of up to $10,000 to eligible community groups for events and initiatives that align with our three key pillars: health and wellbeing, economic empowerment and strengthening local communities. We operate four grant rounds per year in January, April, July and October.
PLS
The Community Grants Program will fund events and initiatives in our priority Pilbara communities that meet the outcomes of our focus areas, Education, Community Resilience and Energy Transition. The program will provide a one-off payment of up to $10,000 to successful recipients of the annual program.
