PHIC’s mission is to assist the Port and the Town of Port Hedland to achieve their maximum potential.
Through its members, PHIC brings substantial industry expertise, provides a cohesive voice for industry and is a single industry wide point of contact for government and community concerning industry development, environment and land-use planning.
PHIC is an incorporated organisation with the overarching objective of assisting the Port and Port Hedland achieve its maximum potential; providing a forum for industry collaboration, information sharing, knowledge transfer and assists partner companies to manage and minimise the impacts of industry on the community.
PHIC acts collaboratively for the benefit of industry and the Port Hedland community to ensure the long-term, sustainable growth of the Port and the Town of Port Hedland.
PHIC also provides a single, industry-wide point of contact for federal, state and local government and has established strong community engagement through the PHIC Industry Community Forum.
The PHIC Community Industry Forum provides a community representatives with a voice and enables the sharing of factual information and knowledge sharing and assists member companies to manage and minimise the impact of industry on the community.
The PHIC Pilbara Producers Forum allow for industry collaboration and knowledge sharing about detailed and highly technical industry issues and solutions.
PHIC is an incorporated organisation led by our Board, Chief Executive Officer and Business and Community Manager who advocate for industry on behalf of members.
PHIC takes a collaborative approach and works to achieve its goals through committees set up to actively participate in, and provide input on, a range of common issues and challenges.
PHIC’s activities are managed by the Board comprising senior representation from each of our full member companies. The Board is chaired by an elected Chairperson and the Board meets quarterly.
PHIC is incorporated and governed by a Board, which is supported by a Chief Executive Officer.
PHIC’s Executive team are supported by the PHIC management committee, comprising representatives with experience, expertise and authority within our full members companies.
Initiatives are undertaken by dedicated our Community and Stakeholder Engagement and Environmental Working Groups.
Committee members are volunteers with experience, expertise and authority within member companies. PHIC Working Groups are supported by both internal and external specialists, as required.
The quarterly PHIC Community Industry Forum has been designed to connect all parts of the broader Port Hedland community. It comprises representatives from industry, government, community groups, indigenous representatives and interested community members.
The purpose of the PHIC CIF is to ensure meaningful engagement and ensure two-way information sharing and promote open, constructive communication between all stakeholders and to work towards developing a shared vision for Port Hedland.
PHIC is an incorporated organisation with membership drawn from Port of Port Hedland users. PHIC is seeking to expand membership to include Associate Members. Associate members include smaller service and supply business along with education institutions and training organisations.
